Service Area

The Alamo Fire Department serves the Town of Alamo and backs up all county volunteer departments.  The department is a volunteer department with 15 volunteers and a part-time Chief.

About the Chief

 Chief Neal Towater has been a Fireman for over 24 years. Along with being the Chief of the Alamo Fire Department he is currently a Captain for the City of Jackson Fire Department. Chief Towater has been volunteer with the Alamo Fire Department since 2012 and became Chief in 2018. Chief Towater has been a resident of Alamo since 2007. 

Emergency Response

We respond to all emergency calls as dispatched.  

The Town of Alamo has the following apparatus used for emergency response:
  • 1 brush firefighting unit
  • 3 firefighting engines
  • Chief's vehicle
  • 1 utility unit
Town of Alamo has an ISO rating of 4+ which corresponds to our firefighting capabilities and training, as well as our water system infrastructure.

How do I become a Volunteer Firefighter?
Contact City Hall office to obtain application.
How far in advance do I need to schedule my station tour/fire engine visit?
It needs to be at lease two weeks in advance.
What are the qualifications for becoming a firefighter?
Basic firefighting training.
What is our ISO rating?
Currently the Town of Alamo has a 4 rating.
