CDBG grant for walking path

The City of Alamo is currently applying for a grant through the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation Office of Outdoor Recreation to enhance recreational opportunities at ED Brown Park — and we’re excited to share what’s being proposed!
If awarded, the project will include:
✅ Construction of approximately 1,092 linear feet of a 10-foot-wide ADA-accessible walking trail
✅ A safe, durable, and family-friendly route for walking, fitness, and everyday recreation
✅ Parking lot improvements to better serve park visitors
✅ Enhanced accessibility features, including accessible parking spaces and improved pedestrian routes
These upgrades will be designed to meet ADA accessibility standards to the greatest extent possible, ensuring that individuals of all ages and abilities can enjoy the park safely and comfortably.
This project will strengthen ED Brown Park as a key community asset by:
🌟 Improving safety
🌟 Increasing walkability
🌟 Expanding inclusive outdoor recreation opportunities
We’re proud to invest in spaces that bring our community together and promote healthy, active lifestyles for residents and visitors alike.
If you have any questions, you may contact Alamo City Hall at (731) 696-4515.  Comments are encouraged by March 23, 2026.
