Parks and Recreation

​Alamo is a very active community.
​ Sports and recreational activities are an essential part of growing up and staying healthy and well-rounded.
Park St. Park across the street from Alamo City School features a 1/5th mile walking path, pavilions for gatherings, and 2 lit baseball fields.

​Park St. Park is located off of East Park Street in Alamo, TN on Ball Park Loop. 
At this location, there is the following:
​• Playground
• 2 lighted Dixie Youth baseball fields & 1 tee-ball field
• 2 pavilions
• Paved walking path of 1/5 of a mile
• Tornado shelter***
 E.D. Brown Park,
located at 139 West Koonce St., offers:
​• Playground equipment
• 2 Outdoor basketball courts
• Pavilion

​Notice: The pavilions are on a first come, first-serve basis and are free to the residents unless the Town has a request from an outside organization. Please contact City Hall at (731) 696-4515 for more information.

—Tornado Shelter--

The Town has a tornado shelter on East Park Street, right behind the park.  Built in 2014, it was made to withstand an F5 tornado and can handle up to 800 people standing.  Notices will be posted during threatening weather on Facebook, and anyone can call City Hall to find out.  Notices are also normally put out on Nixle by the Crockett County Sheriff Department.
